As I reflect on 2024, Wells for Life celebrates a year of significant achievements and impactful initiatives. Our mission to provide clean and sustainable water solutions has reached new heights, thanks to the unwavering support of our partners, and dedicated team of Indian nationals who are the true champions in making a difference and creating impact within the areas that they serve.
As I take this last trip for 2024, I will be visiting both North and South India where I plan to open 20 new water projects in underserved areas where water scarcity is a huge challenge for so many villages in these tribal and forest areas.
Of these projects, we expect to impact 5,000 village residents with vital access to clean, safe drinking water thereby helping to alleviate sickness and disease which is attributed to water borne diseases.
When this trip draws to a close, Wells for Life will have finished the year with successfully providing clean water to 76 new places and with only 3 failed projects. The estimated impact of these projects is between 38,000 and 40,000 men, women and children. In addition to the bore well drilling projects, we have provided funding for water camps in an urban setting, an air conditioning unit for a Mobile Medical Truck which services mountain communities in NW India which lack access to medical care.
All in all, a hugely successful year and one in which our impact has gone further than any other time in our 23-year history.
I’m so grateful for all the support and belief in our work and for helping us do something in order to make a difference in rural India with clean, safe water.
